Area Schools - Cedar Creek falls within the boundaries of two school districts: Olathe #233 and DeSoto #232. Currently, 90% of the homesites fall within the Olathe School District. DeSoto USD #232 covers 100 square miles in western Johnson County and has a current enrollment of 6,077 as of Sept. 20, 2007 (Early Childhood – 12th grade) Enrollment increased by 2,862 students in just seven years; an average annual increase of 409 new students. Schools are small enough to be personal, yet big in academic and extracurricular opportunities.

Important Facts about the De Soto School District:

  • De Soto USD #232 is one of the fastest growing school districts in the region. It serves the children in a 100+ square mile area of Johnson County, Kansas, which includes the cities of De Soto, Shawnee, Lenexa, and Olathe. The district operates Eleven attendance centers:
    • Six elementary schools (five in Shawnee, one in De Soto)
    • Three middle schools (Shawnee, Lenexa, De Soto)
    • Two high schools (De Soto, Shawnee).
